BOSTON (FOX25, myfoxboston) - Want to combat your acne? Don't worry, there's an App for that.

The "Acne App" sells for $1.99 in the Apple iPhone App store.  The App emits alternating red and blue wavelengths/  The red is thought to reduce swelling, and the blue has been shown to kill bacteria.

The user is directed to apply the lights to the skin of acne prone areas for about two minutes a day.

Dermatologists have been treating acne with light for years and say it may be more effective than over-the-counter creams.

The "Acne App" has yet to be approved by the FDA.
