(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The high school hockey Super 8 final is all set after a thrilling semifinal round Wednesday.
Third ranked Hingham took on #4 Malden Catholic.
In the third period, Malden Catholic’s Justin Sencabaugh’s slap shot trickled through to tie it up 3-3 and send the game to overtime.
With two minutes to go in OT, on a breakaway, Hingham’s Rick Boyle beat goalie Pat Young for the game winner.
The Harbormen won 4-3 and head to the final game.
In the second game of the night, top-seeded Catholic Memorial took on #2 Austin Prep.
In the first period, CM’s Brian Bessinger got the Knights on the board. And that would prove to be the winner as CM goalie Tommy Knox was superb in net with 26 saves and he got his fourth shutout of the season.
Catholic Memorial will take on Hingham in the final game on Monday at the TD Garden.
