Ida made her presence known with pouring rain, wind and flooding all over Massachusetts on Saturday.

The storm caused a state of emergency from Virginia to south New Jersey with some of the worst flooding in a decade.

In Massachusetts, the tropical storm turned nor’easter hit shore towns the worst.

Heavy downpours also slowed morning traffic in Boston and caused flooding on Route 128 and Storrow Drive. Some drivers were stranded and others waited in long backups.

Police were busy with accidents, including a tractor-trailer that jack-knifed on the Mass Pike, leaving only one lane open.

Beach erosion warnings were in effect south of town for the Cape and Islands, and the Coast Guard issues a high surf advisory with waves 18 to 24 feet high.

The storm is expected to move out for a partly cloudy Sunday with no rain expected.
