Sandusky Visits With Grandchildren Restricted

Here are the latest headlines on the alleged Penn State child sex scandal involving former coach Jerry Sandusky.

The Nittany Lions' former defensive coordinator faces 40 counts of sexual abuse against eight boys. A preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed until Dec. 7.

FOX 29 has learned that, according to sources, as many as nine more victims have stepped forward.

Also Penn State trustees are meeting Friday and say they will appoint a special committee to investigate the scandal.

And a judge has issued a temporary order that restricts Sandusky's visits with his grandchildren to supervised only.

Two top Penn State officials have already stepped down. The question now remains will the university's president or head coach Joe Paterno be forced out? And what does this mean for the future of Penn State sports?

Some feel head coach Paterno didn't do enough when he learned of an alleged incident involving Sandusky and a 10-year-old boy in the locker room showers. But on Tuesday night, Paterno was greeted by hundreds of students at his home showing their support.

Paterno's news conference was cancelled earlier Tuesday, but he did finally speak briefly to reporters and then to the crowd outside his home.

When the gathering started to resemble more of a pep rally, the coach asked students to please remember the victims in this case and to keep them in their prayers.

FOX 29's Bruce Gordon was there Tuesday night and had more to report from the university's main campus in State College.
