A local girl who has captured everyone’s hearts, including that of superstar Justin Bieber, reflected on the meeting that meant the world to her on Tuesday.
Avalanna Routh is only 6-years-old, but she fielded questions about her Monday afternoon date with the teenage heartthrob like a star.
The fearless girl talked live on WEEI about AT/RT, the rare form of brain cancer she has fought since she was a baby.
Twenty-four hours earlier, Avalanna was letting Justin Bieber know that one day she would be his wife. It is that fearlessness that had people across the country rooting for Avalanna less than a week ago.
Family friends of Avalanna began a social media campaign hoping to help get the attention of Mr. Bieber. Her story was also brought to the attention of media outlets throughout the area.
After a message through Facebook and many tweets on Twitter, FOX 25 Senior Web Producer Kyle Bishop got in touch with Justin’s manager Scooter Braun on Friday.
During a quick conference call between Kyle, Scooter and Avalanna’s mom Aileen - the connection was made and just hours later Avalanna and her family flew to New York to meet the Biebs.
On Monday, Avalanna to spent two hours with the “Never say Never” singer eating cupcakes and playing the boardgame Candyland. For the record - according to Avalanna - Bieber won.
