High school junior Danielle Coughlin says she is pretty girly, but her tough side shines through when it comes to her favorite sport.
Danielle is a Varsity wrestler at North Andover High School and her 17-3 record speaks for itself. The 106-pound girl is ranked second in all of Division II and has helped her team win back-to-back titles.
Wrestling is a family affair for Danielle. She was encouraged by her brother, Larry, to join the team. Larry is a volunteer coach at the school and as children he and Danielle would wrestle. She decided to take up wrestling as a sport in fifth grade.
The junior is seen as a well-respected wrestler among her competitors. Teammates tell FOX 25 any criticism from other wrestlers goes out the window when they see her wrestle.
