City of Boston settles with falsely convicted man Sammy Toro

Posted:

The City of Boston has now reached a financial settlement with Sammy Toro, who was serving a life sentence for a 1981 murder.

FOX Undercover first raised doubts about Toro’s guilt back in 2004, and after that a judge threw out the conviction.

Toro then filed a federal lawsuit against the city and three former police officers saying he was framed by the Boston Police.

The amount of the settlement has not been disclosed.

Toro's wife Debbie is disappointed the case did not go to trial, because she says she wanted to hold the Boston Police Department accountable in court.

Toro and his wife are now living in Florida.
