Four Brookline police officers are on paid leave after allegedly beating a man over the weekend.
Bob Sonia said he was chaperoning a stripper to a Beacon Street condo early Sunday morning. He claims the off-duty Brookline cops decided they didn't want the stripper to dance for them, claiming the bachelor had left the party. After words were exchanged, Sonia and the woman left. That's when Sonia claims the officers jumped him.
Sonia suffered a fracture underneath his eye socket, a fractured nose and several lacerations.
Sonia's lawyer John Saliba says he would like to press charges, but the Brookline police won't release the names of the officers. They would also not release the police report or recordings of the 911 call.
