BOSTON (AP) - A Boston man accused of beating his 50-year-old neighbor to death is scheduled to face a judge this week.
Cristian Rodriguez had been expected to be arraigned on Monday in Roxbury District Court on a murder charge in the Feb. 6 death of Roosevelt Harris. The arraignment was rescheduled to Friday because of a transportation issue.
Authorities say the two men were neighbors in the same Roxbury apartment building, but have not disclosed a motive.
Prosecutors say the 35-year-old Rodriguez was identified as a suspect as a result of extensive interviews, eyewitness statements, and other evidence. A warrant charging him with Harris' homicide was approved March 7, while he was in custody for an unrelated offense. He has been held in a secure facility since that time.
