(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - It's one of the most famous pictures of the 20th century: the shot of an American sailor planting a kiss on a young lady in Times Square after it was announced World War 2 had ended.
Now, years later, we're finally learning the true identity of those involved in the kiss seen around the world.
George Mendonsa has been identified as "The Kissing Sailor" in the 1945 photograph.
We learned this thanks to Larry Verria, co-author of the new book, "The Kissing Sailor."
We were honored to have them both join us this morning.
