TAUNTON (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say a Rhode Island man has
been arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase through two states.
Authorities say 30-year-old Ignacio Abreu of Providence led police on the
chase after he hit a Cranston, R.I. police cruiser Wednesday night.
They say Abreu fled north on Interstate 95. He eventually exited and
authorities say the pursuit ended on a dead-end street in Taunton, Mass.
State police say Abreu has outstanding warrants on drug charges. They say he
will face additional charges in connection with hitting the police cruiser and
the following pursuit in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Abreu is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
