1. Gardner Heist.
Last week's search of Connecticut mobster Robert Gentile's Manchester home did not turn up the items stolen in the 1990 Gardner Art Heist; however a source close to the investigation told FOX 25's Bob Ward the lead remains promising.
In 1990, thieves passing themselves off as Boston Police officers subdued two guards at the Isabella Stewart Museum and stole 13 pieces of art, some of them priceless works.
Last year, prosecutors said in federal court that Gentile, 75, may have information about the stolen Gardner artwork. Gentile is facing federal charges in another case.
Prosecutors were not any more specific about what Gentile might know, but authorities continue to take a hard look at Gentile and his associates in Boston and Philadelphia as they investigate the case.
