Worcester man charged following bachelor party bash

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Worcester man who allegedly hit his friend with a bottle during a bachelor party, causing serious injury, was arraigned on Tuesday afternoon in Boston Municipal Court.

Robert Hernandez, 27, was released after posting bail provided he stay away from the victim, as well as the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

Hernandez was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he reportedly grabbed a bottle and struck his friend after the man had pushed him to the ground, the victim told police at the scene.

The victim was taken to Tufts Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but was expected to survive.

Witnesses told police that both men were attending a bachelor party and had been drinking heavily.

Hernandez is scheduled to return to court on June 24.
