On Thursday, April 1, 2010, Adel Kobeissi, better known as "Alex" was murdered on Detroit's west side. He was wrapping up a hard day at work leaving his Sunoco station on Puritan and Schaefer Highway at 9:45pm. As he walked to his white van parked in front of the gas station a man with a gun walked up, shot him, and stole the bag of cash he was carrying. Kobeissi was 51 years old.
Police have a surveillance picture of a suspect police want to interview. Another man is also seen on camera walking up to the front of the gas station, stopping, and walking away just prior to the shooting. Police are convinced more than one person played a role in the robbery and murder.
