Third person connected to Bish investigation dies

WARREN -

A key witness in the disappearance of Molly Bish has died. His death is just the latest in a string of deaths that has plagued the investigation.

It will soon be 12 years since Molly Bish was abducted from Comins Pond in Warren and murdered. There is still no sign of an arrest in a case that has captured the attention of people throughout New England.

Molly Bish was just 16 when she was taken from the beach in broad daylight, just moments after her mother dropped her off.

This week FOX 25 learned that one of Molly's close friends, a friend who testified to the grand jury investigating Molly's death, has died.

Molly's sister, Heather, confirms that Kenneth Tatro recently died in Florida.

Tatro was 18 on June 27, 2000. He told investigators he saw an older man at Comins Pond who was staring at Molly in the days before her abduction.

In 2006, Tatro was a soldier in the U.S. army. He was arrested in Warren on an outstanding warrant, but agreed to testify to the grand jury investigating Molly's case. That grand jury dismissed without ever indicting anyone.

Tatro's death is just the latest of people close to the case. In June 2003, Peter Rambiszewski died in a single-car crash shortly after Molly's remains were found in Palmer.

In 2006, Steven Lukas, Molly Bish's boyfriend, died in a single-car accident in Palmer. Police say he was speeding.

It is difficult to say what effect the three deaths might have on the Bish investigation.
