BROCKTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Brockton man previously arrested for murdering his first wife and raping a child was arrested on new rape charges on Wednesday.
Frank A. Benjamin, Jr., 66, is charged with rape as a subsequent offense and is being held at Plymouth County Jail, reports The Enterprise.
Police responded to an apartment on Spring Street in Brockton on a report of domestic violence. Benjamin was taken into custody, but the reported rape happened at his apartment on North Main Street.
According to the paper, Benjamin, a Level 3 sex offender, was sent to a state prison in 1996 when he pleaded guilty to multiple charges of rape of a child. He was released from jail in December.
Benjamin was convicted of second-degree murder in 1976 after a jury found him guilty of stabbing his wife in the neck in June 1974.
