The New York real estate firm that bought Faneuil Hall in 2011 wants to open a hotel on the second floor of the South Market building.
    
The Boston Globe reports that Ashkenazy Acquisition also says they want to open more restaurants, wine and cheese and other food shops in the vacant retail space.
    
No solid renovation plans are expected to be released until at least February of next year.
