CLINTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Clinton high school student who was last seen Friday was found dead on Sunday in a small body of water behind the Hannaford Plaza on Brook Street.
Friends of 15-year-old Mackenzie Hohl, of Webster Street, gathered outside Clinton High School for a candlelight vigil on Sunday to mourn the loss of their classmate.
According to Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr., Mackenzie was walking on the railroad tracks in a wooded area behind the plaza Friday night. She apparently fell between 20 and 30 feet from a wall and landed in the water.
Friends of the victim say Mackenzie attended a party on Friday night and was dropped off at Hannaford's, which is not far from her grandmother's home.
Her body was discovered Sunday, shortly after 2 p.m. by a man who was looking for her.
Word that Mackenzie was missing had spread through town and on social media sites.
No foul play is suspected.
The State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office and the Clinton Police Department are continuing to investigate.
Grief counselors will be at the school Monday for students.
