FALL RIVER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The Fall River public pool where a woman laid dead at the bottom for days unnoticed will reopen next week.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation confirmed on its website that the Veteran's Memorial Pool at Lafayette Park will open on June 23.
Marie Joseph drowned last June after going down the slide. She remained at the bottom for days in the murky water before anyone found her.
The pool was shut down and two former DCR managers admitted to sufficient facts for child endangerment charges. They received one year probation.
The slide has since been removed and the deep end was reduced from 12 feet to 5.5 feet.
