U.S. rep to start National Bunker Hill holiday movement - Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – It's already a holiday in the Boston area. Now, one local U.S. rep. is hoping to take it national.
    
Congressman Michael Capuano is launching a campaign to turn Bunker Hill Day into a national holiday.
    
Currently, Boston students and municipal and state employees in Suffolk County are the only ones who get the day off. That has lead some to call it a "hack holiday."
    
Capuano said the battle fought on June 17, 1775, was a turning point in the Revolutionary War and should be recognized by everyone.
