NORTHAMPTON (AP) - Authorities say a Northampton woman who suffered severe burns in an accident at her backyard barbecue pit has died at a Boston hospital.
Police say 50-year-old Jennifer Driver-Nelson died at Massachusetts General Hospital on Sunday from burns sustained in an accident about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The death is not considered suspicious but remains under investigation.
Police say her husband called firefighters when he looked out the window of their home and saw his wife's clothes on fire. He sustained minor burns trying to assist.
The fire pit was active at the time.
