Break-in damages Roxbury church

Posted: Updated:

ROXBURY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Thieves' attempts to break into a Roxbury pharmacy left a church next door with some major damage.

The congregation at the Ministry, Christ and the Family Pentecostal Church on Humboldt Avenue is already hard at work repairing several holes in the church's walls.

On Monday night, thieves used saws to cut through the wall the church shared with the pharmacy next door. The thieves were looking to steal prescription drugs.

In addition to the four huge holes and a broken front door, the thieves also stole a safe, documents and $400 from the church.

The pastor told FOX 25 this crime affects more than just the church.

Church members have already started donating money and their services to fix the damage.

So far, there has been no word on any suspects.
