Convicted child molester trying again for chance at freedom

Posted: Updated:

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Convicted child molester Wayne Chapman is trying again for his chance at freedom.

The 65-year-old is set to have a hearing on his release Thursday.

Chapman is the main suspect in the disappearance of 10-year-old Andy Puglisi from Lawrence back in 1976.

Chapman was given a 30-year prison sentence for the unrelated charge of molesting two other boys from Lawrence.

Chapman finished serving that sentence, but the state successfully had him committed to the Massachusetts Treatment Center in Bridgewater, saying he is too dangerous to release.
