Bear spotted in tree in downtown Sturbridge - Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston

STURBRIDGE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A bear was spotted in downtown Sturbridge Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, this was a 170-pound bruin.

It was 15 to 20 feet up in a tree off of Main Street, behind the post office.

The bear was tranquilized and moved to the woods without incident.

On Monday night, a Cape Cod bear was captured after weeks on the run. Massachusetts environmental police caught the wayward black bear in Wellfleet.
