BOSTON (AP) - Federal authorities say three Guatemalan men who had been living in Lynn have been deported to their homeland where they are facing rape and murder charges.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement that the three men ages 25, 22 and 21 are accused of beating, raping and strangling a woman in San Antonio Serchil in November 2006.
Interpol, working with federal agencies as well as Lynn police, determined that the men were living in Lynn. Two of them had criminal histories in Massachusetts.
The men were arrested in December and taken into custody by Guatemalan authorities upon their arrival in their homeland on Thursday.
