Racing school puts people in the driver's seat at MIS

BROOKLYN, Mich. (WJBK) -

Feeling the need for speed?  The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is burning up the track at Michigan International Speedway this weekend.

We're told the two mile long track is the fastest in NASCAR.  In fact, Jeff Gordon did some test drove it in April and said it was the fastest he has ever gone in a stock car.

Now, you may know about the speedway from the various NASCAR events it hosts, but what you may not know is that you can come down to MIS and take an actual stock car for a spin.

"Come out here and learn how to drive a race car.  About 150 miles-per-hour.  If that sounds interesting, come on out and try your best," said Chris Gibson, an instructor with Mach1 Racing Schools.

He let Fox 2's Alan Longstreet tag along for a couple of laps around the track.  Click on the video player above to watch.
