A new study suggests that newborn babies may test positive for marijuana on newborn screening tests because of certain types of baby soaps.
Newborns washed shortly after birth could test positive. According to Yahoo.com, the five baby soaps in question include Johnson & Johnson's Head-to-Toe Baby Wash, J&J Bedtime Bath, CVS Night-Time Baby Bath, Aveeno Soothing Relief Creamy Wash and Aveeno Wash Shampoo.
Scientists aren't currently sure what could be causing the unusual results.
An expert tells Yahoo.com that it is unlikely social services would get involved if a newborn tests positive once for marijuana.
The results of the study were published in the June issue of the journal for Clinical Biochemistry.
