WAREHAM (AP) - State police say a Brockton man drove the wrong way on Route 495 in Wareham, crashing head-on into another driver who was killed.
Phendy Pamphile was removed from his vehicle and hospitalized Saturday night with what police say was a serious leg injury. Police say they are investigating to determine what charges the 26-year-old Pamphile will face.
Christopher Elicier, 43, of Wareham, was ejected from his vehicle by the impact of the crash. Wareham rescue workers declared him dead at the scene.
Elicier was reportedly on his way to work at the Taunton State Hospital where he worked the overnight shift. It was going to be his last shift before a two week vacation.
Elicier is survived by his wife and his 6 and 15-year-old sons.
State police say neither driver wore a seatbelt.
