HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver in Harrison Township who crashed into a teenager riding her bike.

Kara Duquet, 17, remains in intensive care after being struck by a car along Jefferson Avenue just south of Crocker Road around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night. Duquet had just finished her shift at Terry's Terrace, a nearby restaurant, and got on her bicycle to ride home. Family members tell FOX 2 she was only on her bike for around 20 seconds before she was struck by the vehicle.

"We're all devastated," said Sherry Bidoul, general manager at Terry's Terrace.

Duquet suffered two badly broken legs.

Witnesses tell Macomb County Sheriffs they saw a black Toyota Corolla veer off the roadway and struck Duquet. Police say the driver then fled northbound on Jefferson. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 586-469-5151.
