DEDHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The bunny controversy continues in Dedham, where the placement of a public arts project has some veterans pretty angry.
A group of Dedham veterans wanted the large fiber-glass rabbit removed immediately from Oakdale Square, saying it is too close to a more somber veteran's memorial.
The vets said during a meeting on Monday that they would now be OK with Peace the bunny staying in place until September. The artist behind the sculpture also appears to be OK with that plan.
The Parks and Recreation Department has final say over the sculpture.
Peace the rabbit was originally named Leroy after a World War II vet from Dedham.
