LAWRENCE (AP) - A Lawrence man whose street name is "Macho" has been convicted of killing another man during a home invasion three years ago.
A jury deliberated four hours on Monday before convicting 22-year-old Dennis Colon of fatally shooting 23-year-old Juan Caba in May 2009.
Colon was sentenced to a mandatory term of life in prison without parole on Tuesday.
Colon was also convicted of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and burglary.
Prosecutors say Colon and two other men broke into Caba's home in the early morning hours and demanded marijuana and cash. Caba was shot in the head as he grabbed the gun pointed at him.
The Eagle-Tribune (http://bit.ly/MpH5X3 ) reports that Colon's Lawyer said any number of people could have killed Caba.
