(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - It turns out Mark Wahlberg was close to snagging the movie rights to "Fifty Shades of Grey."
The Dorchester native told Access Hollywood he knew the book was going to be a phenomenon.
Wahlberg eventually lost out. And when asked if he would take on the title role of Christian Grey, he shot that down, saying his wife wouldn't like that.
In other news, R&B singer and Dorchester native Bobby Brown tied the knot in Hawaii, though his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was noticeably absent from the ceremony.
Brown married his longtime girlfriend, Alicia Etheridge, in Honolulu on Monday.
According to sources, Bobbi Kristina is filming an upcoming reality TV show in New York and chose not to attend her father's nuptials.
His kids from Boston were at the ceremony.
Bobbi Kristina's relationship with her father has reportedly been strained following the death of her mother and Brown's ex-wife Whitney Houston in February.
