BOSTON (AP) - Sen. Scott Brown says he's held secret meetings with "kings and queens" during his time in the U.S. Senate.
The Massachusetts senator made the comment during an interview Thursday on WTKK-FM, after being asked if it was time to move past questions about Democratic rival Elizabeth Warren's claims of Native American heritage.
Brown defended his work as a senator, saying that each day he's "either discussing issues, meeting on issues in secret meetings" with "kings and queens and prime ministers and business leaders and military leaders."
A spokesman for Brown said he was referring generally to private meetings with foreign and domestic leaders and misspoke when he said kings and queens.
The chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party is calling on Brown to release a list of his secret meetings.
