Maryland man arrested for impersonating cop after pulling over off-duty officer

Posted: Updated:

A Maryland man was arrested on Wednesday for impersonating an officer after attempting to pull over an off-duty police officer.

WTTG reports that 29-year-old Kenneth Mastrogiovanni of Crofton, Md. used blue and red emergency lights on the top of his white pickup truck to pull over the officer. Mastrogiovanni allegedly told the officer that he was a military police officer from Louisiana and told him he was speeding.

The officer told Mastrogiovanni he had no jurisdiction and that his lights were illegal. He then contacted police and tailed Mastrogiovanni until officers arrived.
