BOSTON (AP) — The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will be discussing issues related to problem gambling.
Commission
members are scheduled to hear presentations from experts on problem
gambling during a public forum Monday at North Shore Community College
in Lynn.
The forum aims to raise awareness of problem gambling and
treatment resources available throughout the state. It will feature
personal stories from individuals who've struggled with gambling
addictions and provide insight for treatment and research.
Information
from the forum will help the commission implement a law signed by Gov.
Deval Patrick in November that allows for the licensing of three casinos
and one slots parlor in the state.
