Closed Brockton gym: Owners leave thousands in debt, leave state

BROCKTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The owners of the Brockton gym that abruptly shut down last week have picked up and moved to Florida.

The Brockton Enterprise reports that Metro South Athletic Club owners Maggie Canada and Bernie Goodman are back in Canada's hometown of Naples, Fla.

Gym members found the place closed down last week without warning or compensation.

Records show the couple left owing nearly $100,000 in unpaid bills.
