SEEKONK (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Seekonk officials believe a local gas company played a role in the fire that destroyed the Old Grist Mill Restaurant.
Town representatives say Columbia Gas took their time to stop a leak that fueled the blaze.
The historic landmark was destroyed when a delivery truck lost control and crashed into the building, hitting that gas tank.
Columbia Gas says they were just being cautious. One wrong move and they could have cut off the town's entire gas supply.
Seekonk officials also claim the same thing happened about a month ago during a major mill fire on Maple Street.
No one was hurt in either fire.
