Sandwich beach goers rescued after drifting away from shore - Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston

SANDWICH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A group of beach goers had quite the scare on Thursday afternoon when they were swept too far away from land.

Sandwich Fire officials tell FOX 25 they received a call around 4:35 p.m. about a group of nine teens and an adult floating around 100 yards away from shore on rafts and paddleboards.

A concerned family member called the fire department. They were able to send a 45-foot boat to rescue the group. Everyone was unharmed.
