LITTLETON (AP) - Authorities say a 10-month-old infant has been pulled from a pond in Littleton and taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Littleton Fire Chief Steele McCurdy says that shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday, police officers and firefighters were called to a home where the child was found in a small pond in the back yard.
A spokeswoman for the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said the child is in critical condition. The spokeswoman, Stephanie Chelf Guyotte, said that as of now, it appears to be an accident.
The identities of the child and the family were not immediately available.
