SEATTLE (AP) - David Ortiz hit a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning and the
Boston Red Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1 for a split of the four-game
series.
Ryan Kalish, pinch-hitting for Brent Lillibridge, hit a one-out double off
the right-center field wall against Seattle reliever Brandon League in the 10th.
Dustin Pedroia followed with a single to right, putting runners at the
corners.
Ortiz, who will be the AL's designated hitter in the All-Star game, hit a 2-0
pitch to deep right field for the go-ahead run.
Vicente Padilla (2-0) pitched a scoreless ninth. Alfredo Aceves recorded his
19th save.
