
BARNSTABLE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police in Barnstable are investigating a claim that a female in her early teens was assaulted by a man while using the restroom at Hamblin's Pond in Marstons Mills.
Barnstable Police responded to Hamblin's Pond on July 1 around 12:13 p.m. for a report of a assault on a female in her early teens.
The victim was reportedly at the town beach with an adult family friend. She said she went to use the public restroom and encountered a young adult male.
According to police, the male brandished a knife and threatened her. He then touched the victim in an inappropriate manner and told her he would hurt her if she told anyone.
The victim immediately told her adult family friend about the incident.
Police responded and searched the area but did not find the man.
The suspect is described as a tanned white male or a light skinned Hispanic male. He was wearing dark clothing, a black baseball hat and a bandana over part of his face during the alleged assault.
