CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

"My sister ran into the room, and she's like get in the bathroom," said Anthony Clousurdo, who was asleep inside his home.  "Once I came into the bathroom, we heard the whole house shake.  I guess the trees fell on, and then we looked out the bathroom door and we could just see outside and it was nuts."

Huddling in the bathroom, somehow Clousurdo and his family were not crushed by four massive trees that came crashing down and smashed their mobile home like a tin can.

A strong storm blew through Chesterfield's Fairchild Lake mobile home community off 22 Mile in the blink of an eye.

"I can't believe there was no sirens or anything.  We didn't hear nothing," Clousurdo said.

"I was on the phone and, all of a sudden, I hung up and I heard a crash and everything came off of my walls, all the pictures, glass shattered all over, and then the whole paneling came off inside and scared the heck out of me," said Joann Awe.

It didn't take long for a Macomb Township couple, who usually watch storms from their garage on Birch Crest Drive, to run for cover.

"The winds picked up to unbelievable speeds.  The tree came down on the car.  The tree over here went down and shingles off the roof flying across the street, and it was time for us to get downstairs," said Greg Nakoneczny.

There was no rhyme or reason to the wicked waves of storms that kept coming Tuesday evening.  Macomb County was hit the hardest.  Several houses were hit by lightening, power lines down leaving thousands without electricity and flash flooding.

Now the cleanup begins, and its helpful residents like Al Pauli with his tractor working with his neighbors to clear the debris.

"It's fun.  I like doing it and it's the Good Samaritan thing and just the right thing to do," he said.

As for the Clousurdo family, we're told the leasing office has moved them to another mobile home in the community.

Some Detroiters say their neighbor is hoarding dogs. She has been accused of doing it before. In 2011, 25 dogs were removed from her home, but we're told a case was never brought.
