MIDDLEBOROUGH (AP) - Two people have died after a pickup truck being driven in the wrong direction struck another vehicle in Middleborough.

Two other people, including a 5-year-old boy, were injured in the crash at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a Ford pickup truck was traveling south in the northbound lane when it struck a Ford Focus.

The pickup's driver, 27-year-old Patrick Adams of Plympton, was partially ejected and declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Focus, 47-year-old Christopher Backman of Middleborough, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Linda Millett of Brewster and her son were taken to hospitals in critical condition. Police believe they were passengers in the Focus.
