BROOKLINE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A female pedestrian in her twenties was robbed on Winchester Street in Brookline after stopping to give driving directions to another woman.

Brookline Police say the victim was walking from Beacon Street toward Kelton Street around 12:30 a.m. when a driver, described as a middle-aged light skinned black female, pulled up beside her. As the driver asked the victim for directions, a man walked past her and continued walking.

After giving the woman directions, the victim began walking again when she spotted the same male subject stopped near the intersection of Winchester and Fuller Streets. The man displayed a silver handgun to the victim and demanded her money as she tried to walk by him. He proceeded to reach into her bag, taking her money and keys. The victim was then told to walk in the opposite direction.

Shortly after the robbery, the middle-aged woman in the car returned. She asked the victim if she was alright and then left.

The robber is described as a middle-aged black man, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt. The vehicle is described as a mid-sized car with a baby seat in the back behind the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call Brookline Police at 617-730-2222.
