ORLEANS (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A teenage girl sustained multiple traumatic injuries after being hit by a boat propeller in Orleans.

Fire officials say a 14-year-old girl was hit by a motor boat propeller near Hog Island around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

The girl was taken to the hospital via ambulance. Her injuries are potentially life threatening.

Officials say a doctor from a local medical center was putting their boat in the water during the rescue and volunteered to help.
