WINDHAM, N.H. (AP) — The 3-year-old daughter of a New Hampshire lawmaker has died after being pulled unconscious from a swimming pool.
Windham police told the Eagle-Tribune that the girl died early Monday in an apparent accidental drowning.
She was the daughter of Republican state Rep. Richard Ockerman. Police said the incident unfolded late Sunday afternoon and that the girl was transferred from a local hospital to Elliot Hospital in Manchester before she died.
House Speaker William O'Brien called it an "unspeakable tragedy" and said House members are keeping their colleague in their thoughts and prayers.
