Mass. man killed near Pentagon identified

A Massachusetts man was involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.

Arlington County, Md., police said the 62-year-old Robert Shepard, of Lawrence, was found along the side of Route 110 near the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said a caller to 911 reported that a vehicle was on the side of the road with a body in front of it. When police arrived, the vehicle was no longer there.

Shepard was reported missing by his girlfriend on June 29th.
