PHOTO GALLERY: Al Capone, Bonnie and Clyde items up for auction

Posted: Updated:

Guns from some of America's most notorious gangsters will be hitting the auction block in September 2012.

RR Auction's live "Gangsters, Outlaws, and Lawmen" auction will take place on September 30, 2012 and feature items from big names in the underworld that include John Dillinger, Al Capone, and gangster couple Bonnie and Clyde.

The auction will also include items from the lawmen in charge of bringing them down.

Among the most fascinating items are the guns owned by Bonnie and Clyde. The couple's auction arsenal includes a gun recovered from the inner thigh of Bonnie Parker after her death. Bonnie is said to have taped the gun there because at that time no lawman would even think to check that area.

The auction also includes a gun recovered from Clyde Barrow's waistband after he was shot to death in 1934.
