DETROIT (WJBK) -
A Detroit firefighter suffered minor injuries as crews battled a vacant apartment blaze on the city's west side.
The fire started around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in a complex on Webb near Byron. The building was supposed to be vacant, but officials say squatters were living inside.
The firefighter was injured when the stairs he was climbing gave way. He fell through, but is expected to fully recover.
The fire is now out and firefighters are no longer on the scene.
