RANDOLPH, Mass. -

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) RANDOLPH - A Massachusetts State Police cruiser suffered damage after a collision with another vehicle on Route 24 Tuesday afternoon.

Massachusetts State Police say the cruiser was traveling in the left lane on Route 24 southbound by Exit 20 in Randolph around 3:38 p.m. when he observed a disabled motor vehicle in the breakdown lane.

As he began to cross over the highway with the cruiser's emergency blue lights activated, he collided with a vehicle driven by a Carver woman.

The trooper was not reported injured; however, an 11-year-old passenger of the other vehicle sustained injuries when the airbag deployed.

Both the woman and the child were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.  Information regarding their conditions was not released.

Last week, three people were killed and several others were injured in four separate crashes on Route 24.
